Round knives. One of the most used leather tools.

Staying busy around here and looking forward to cooler weather. I took on a new “hobby” back in April, and started making a few leather knives. I’ve always been fascinated by the tools of the leather trade, whether it’s stamping tools or the knives we use for cutting. The round knife in the photos is the latest one from my knife shop, and it’s the first one I’m making available for sale. I won’t be making many–for a couple of reasons. The first being that I need to juggle my knifemaking projects with my leather projects. The second is the fact that I’m probably the slowest knife maker in existence.

I won’t be accepting advance orders, but I will be offering products here and there as they are completed. Comments and questions are always welcome, and feel free to reach out by email to BruceGibson@aol.com.

If you would like to own this one, it’s available over on my other website. All the specs and details are listed there. Here’s the link to it: https://gibsonleather.com/products/gibson-traditional-round-head-knife-for-leather

Tuesday. A lot to talk about, but I’m not gonna.

Black Cherry star basket stamped OWB with a 4″ Kimber Pro Raptor II in stainless.

Busy week last week, and another underway. I finished a bunch of 1911 holsters in a few different flavor combinations. A couple of florals, a basket stamp and a hammer stamp (an idea I stole–see my earlier post). I also did a half-dozen in plain ol’ natural, which we all know I’m partial to.

Today will be mostly photography, pattern making for some new guns, and knife sheaths for the Buck #112 and #110. I’ve also had a few folks asking when and if I’d be making belts again. I will be–I built one the other day for yours truly and I’m real tickled with how it turned out. Being a glutton for punishment, the answer would be “yes, I will be bringing the belts back.”

That’s it for now. Reckon I’ll wander back over to the coffee pot. Thanks for reading! And, as my friend Ricky Wallace says, “Thanks for your support!”

Saturday? They’re all running together…

*Both of these are now in the Shop at the link up above.

A couple I finished this morning. Both for 4″ or 4.25″ 1911’s, and both what we call “half-lined.” The interiors are smooth leather, and the back panels are roughout. Basket-stamp on the left and the Barranti Leather-style hammered finish on the right. Both natural oil premium Hermann Oak leather and both are available. I’ll have them up on the websites later today* with all the details if you’re interested. If you’re sold and can’t wait…shoot me an email to BruceGibson@aol.com and I’ll ship it to you Monday via Priority Mail. Satisfaction guaranteed.

No waiting list, no backlog, and no advance-orders accepted. I apologize for the last one, but that’s the only way to offer the first two.
